RIDINGHIGH 25 TH

This year marks 25 years since we opened the RIDING HIGH SHOP on October 31, 1999 along the Meguro River in Nakameguro. At that time, I received design requests from various manufacturers, and that was my job.

I've loved second-hand clothes since I was a teenager, and whenever I had free time, I would go to Harajuku (there were several second-hand clothing stores in Harajuku at the time). I especially loved the worn denim and coveralls, the slightly dirty All Stars, and the sweatshirts and T-shirts with various prints.

At that time, the rule was that products should be finished uniformly, and it was not possible to create products that would change over time and look good over time. ``Then I'll make it myself and sell it myself,'' I thought, and opened SHOP ``RIDING HIGH.'' The shop's craftsmanship consisted of things that looked worn, used clothing, and remade CHAMPION reverse weave products.

At that time, there were no such shops yet, and the Nakameguro area was attracting attention, so by having various people see and interact with us, we found ourselves being carried by various select shops. We have become a manufacturer that manufactures products under the RIDING HIGH brand.

I looked back over the past 25 years and created a video where I talked about my feelings toward manufacturing at that time and my vision for the future. Please take a look if you like.
