ふっくらとしてもちもち感のあるヴィンテージ特有のスウェットシャツの生地を再現するために旧式の編み機で編んだアヅマ裏毛です。
この編み機は、まだデータの設定より熟練の職人の肌感で糸の設定や感覚で編み立てていて、それにより雰囲気やクラッシック感のある表情を再現しています。
脇にハギのないチューブの生地を編み立てそのままボディーとして使用することで、廃棄する生地を約15%軽減できる自然環境に配慮した商品です。各サイズ別に機械を変えて編んでいます。
このアイテムの通称は「後付けパーカー」。1940年代から1950年にかけて流行したアメリカの服飾史上でも名品とされているアイテムです。現在ではその希少価値の高さからヴィンテージ市場での相場は100万円（!!）に近づくほど価格が高騰しています。RIDINGHIGHでは当時のデザインを忠実に再現しています。
特に脇にハギの無いボディとヴィンテージスウェットの特徴的なでディテールのフリーダムスリーブ（脇の生地が袖の部分まではみ出している）に前後共に両Vガセット（通称汗止め）が付いています。
This sweatshirt fabric—called Azuma Back Fleece—is knitted on a traditional low-gauge machine to recreate the soft, springy texture characteristic of vintage sweatshirts.
Unlike modern machines controlled by digital settings, this knitting machine relies on the craftsman’s skill and intuition to adjust the yarn tension and density, resulting in a fabric with an authentic, classic look and feel.
The tubular body is knitted without side seams, reducing fabric waste by approximately 15%, making it an environmentally conscious choice. Each size is knitted on a separate machine to maintain the ideal proportions.
This style was a legendary piece in American fashion from the 1940s to 1950s. Its rarity today has made it a highly sought-after collector’s item, often reaching close to one million yen in the vintage market. RIDING HIGH faithfully reproduces the original design.
